To adapt to the fast pace of urbanization in Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, a roadway lighting master plan and design guide is developed to regulate the urban lighting applications, improve the quality of urban public space and support the city's substantial growth.

The roadway lighting master plan defines the framework for a safer and greener urban functional lighting system featuring Pingtan's characteristics. The design guide provides a practical solution for continuous development during the planning period. At the same time, as an important municipal infrastructure, how urban roadway lighting can support the city to evolve from traditional to smart is also under consideration in this plan.
